VirtualARt is a suite of innovative tools designed to enable theaters and audiovisual production companies to create immersive experiences using augmented and mixed reality (AR/XR). It integrates 3D animation, advanced engineering, and augmented reality to facilitate the creation of interactive scenes and worlds in theatrical productions or to transform existing audiovisual works, such as movies or short films, into participatory stage experiences.
The project adapts and makes these technologies, which are already widely used in video games, accessible to directors, theatrical creatives, audiovisual companies, and other developers. This aims to open new business and employment opportunities, expand and enhance the quality of cultural offerings, and foster private and public investment.
VirtualARt Editor
The Bionic Ape team has created a customized VirtualARt Editor to streamline the creation of immersive theatrical environments.
This editor enhances the capabilities of Unreal Engine, equipping creators with the essential tools needed to develop detailed scene content.
VirtualARt Controller
This application is designed for stage technicians, enabling them to manage and control virtual environment sequences in real-time during a performance. Similar to lighting and sound controllers, it will facilitate scene manipulation and oversee what the audience experiences.
VirtualARt Backend
BionicApe, utilizing its expertise in massively multiplayer games, boasts an advanced server infrastructure designed to deliver limitless augmented reality experiences to spectators. This setup ensures synchronization and cohesion for large theater audiences without the necessity of high-speed internet connections.
VirtualARt Viewer
This augmented reality application connects to servers to deliver a synchronized and customized experience for each spectator, adjusting based on their height and distance from the stage. Users can interact using augmented reality glasses and/or smartphones, enabling a fully personalized and immersive experience with the content.
